Environmental Education for Children

Our preschool prioritizes energy conservation and environmental awareness. Our teachers teach our pupils about the smallest ways they may help conserve Mother Earth. After all, modest steps can have a large influence.

An early childhood education curriculum should include environmental education. As a result, we make it a point to be role models for our pupils when it comes to hygiene and conserving natural resources. Here are several examples:

  • When not in use, turn off the lights.

Teachers ask a student to turn off the lights when the class leaves a room. This instills in children a sense of responsibility that they can apply both inside and outside of the classroom. Our daycare in Canada also publishes reminders on responsible electricity use in classrooms, restrooms, offices, and other areas.

  • After using the faucet, turn it off.

We teach our children the value of not wasting water, as well as its importance to our health and cleanliness. Reminders are also put in drinking places, restrooms, and other areas.

  • Using the CLAYGO technique.

The CLAYGO approach is used at our child development center in Edmonton, Canada. Clean As You Go instructs children to put their rubbish in the proper garbage cans. It also promotes mindfulness and respect for others. For example, after eating, putting dirty dishes and trash in their designated areas.

  • Respecting plants and animals.

Students at our nursery school are encouraged to be friendly and caring to plants and animals because they, too, have a life and a role in the world.

Ellwood Daycare and Out of School Care is the nursery of choice for high-quality child care and education services. Our school works hard to help you raise an independent and respectable child. Contact us to enroll your child.
